A pool safety net is another way to help restrict access to the water. When correctly installed and tensioned, it creates a taut barrier over the pool. It is a supplemental safety measure and does not replace attentive adult supervision, required barriers or compliance with local codes.
The central tensioning system lets you release the net before unhooking the anchors, making removal and replacement easier. The net is placed over the pool while loose, connected to the anchors and then tensioned from the pool edge. Removal and replacement times vary by pool size, shape and user experience.
Flush-Mount Anchors
Flush-mount anchors sit level with the pool deck for a clean appearance. A 3/4-inch hole is drilled with a diamond core bit and the anchor is inserted into the deck. The installed anchor is approximately the size of a quarter and is available in colors that coordinate with many pool decks. These permanent anchors are not intended for routine removal.
Surface-Mount Anchors
Surface-mount anchors are attached with two screws and may often be positioned in grout lines between pavers. When the net is no longer needed, the screws and anchors can be removed and the small screw holes can be filled with grout. In some layouts, an anchor may need to be angled and a screw may pass through a paver to secure the net correctly.
